Sprint and AT&T battling to lure Samsung Galaxy Note 2 customers. Following Sprint’s announcement, AT&T unveils its Samsung Galaxy Note, release date and price.
AT&T has just announced that they will be selling Samsung’s fabled ‘phablet’, the Galaxy Note 2 (with a two-year contract) starting on the 9th of November for $299 in stores and online, the telecom giant will also begin accepting preorders of the oversized superphone on Thursday, 25th of this month–the confirmed date for Sprint’s Galaxy Note 2 launch.
Tech website, CNET has reported that availability of the “Marble White” version on AT&T is imminent.
Meanwhile, earlier reports suggesting that T-Mobile is all set for launching the Galaxy Note 2 tomorrow [to get a head start against Sprint] are yet to be confirmed. The Galaxy Note 2 is still listed on T-Mobile’s website as “coming soon”, no details regarding pricing either but we’re pretty sure it will land around the $299 price point as well.
We wouldn’t be surprised if T-Mobile gets to release the Note 2 ahead of the gang given that T-Mobile was also the first carrier to offer the Samsung Galaxy S3 in the US, our best bet is to keep an eye out for further announcements.
It’s worth noting that U.S. Cellular has already been taking pre-orders of the Note 2 for quite some time now with shipments to start before the end of this month.
Amidst all these reports and announcements, we’re yet to hear from Verizon Wireless, although, it has been already confirmed that the super ‘phablet’ will be arriving on big red’s doors.
The Galaxy Note 2 for the US market will ship with Android 4.1 ‘Jelly Bean’ out of the box, a roomy 2 gigs of RAM, the Exynos 4212 quad-core processor, 8-megapixel primary camera, front-facing 1.9-megapixel camera and a large 5.5-inch Super AMOLED HD non-Pentile touchscreen display. All carriers except T-Mobile will offer the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 with LTE or Long Term Evolution.
